RENEWAL IN WHO I AM BECOMING
God made you:
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
10 For we are Godās handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Consider the fact that you are Godās handiwork, crafted and created by him. He made you not by accident but intentionally and for a purpose. What does this say about how God sees you?
God Knows you:
Psalms 139:1-4
1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
Take time to think through your thoughts, what has occupied your mind, your time and your life over the past few weeks, months or years. God knows about all these things, the things that matter to you and all the big and small things that make up who you are. If God knows us completely and loves us how should we talk to Him? Are there any ways we restrain ourselves from bringing our honest self to God? Is there something we need to talk to God about that we havenāt brought to Him before?
God leads you:
Proverbs 4:11-12 (NIV)
11 I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.
God cares about you, His desire is to see you succeed in life, to live āthe good lifeā and He wants to walk with you and show you how this can be achieved. Is there something you feel God had been instructing you towards? What has God been speaking to you about lately?
Prayer:
Spend time now talking to your heavenly Father. Reflect on how He created you, uniquely and with a purpose. Ask Him to show you what makes you unique, for Him to show you and what purpose He has for you. Sit and listen, see what thoughts or imagines God brings to mind, hear what wisdom, advice or instructions God has for you. Have a bible nearby in case you would like to search the word or feel prompted to read.
Next Steps:
If you are needing wisdom, guidance or directions, pray that He will show you these things then seek them out. Open the word and read through the Proverbs, or stories from the Old Testament, read through Jesus teachings in the gospels or through the letters of the new testament. Choose one to read, let the Holy Spirit Guide you in this and then consider how you can incorporate these teachings into how you live, act and behave.
Donāt do it alone, talk about these things with your friends, ask them any questions you have and hear what they have to say. Doing life and faith with others is how we sharpen ourselves, we never grow out of needing this.
