You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Sunday, July 6th | Discovery Kids Birthday Party
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 139:13-16

TEACHING OVERVIEW: This week, children discovered that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God, who created each of us with care and purpose, seeing us as His masterpiece. Through Psalm 139:13-16, kids learned that God never makes mistakes and loves us as we are.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. What does it mean to you that God “knit you together” and made you His masterpiece?
  2. How does knowing God doesn’t make mistakes change the way you see yourself?
  3. Can you share something unique about yourself?
  4. How can you remind others that they are also fearfully and wonderfully made by God?

Small Things Count

Sunday, June 29th
SCRIPTURE: Mark 12:41-44

TEACHING OVERVIEW: This week, we explored the story of the widow’s offering in Mark 12:41-44. Jesus noticed a widow who gave just two small coins at the temple. Even though her gift was tiny compared to others, Jesus said she gave more than anyone else because she gave everything she had, and she gave it with her whole heart. This teaches us that God sees and values even the smallest acts of generosity when they come from a loving heart.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. Can you remember a time when you did something small for someone else that made a big difference?
  2. Why do you think Jesus noticed the widow’s small gift?
  3. How can we be generous even if we don’t have a lot of money or things to give?
  4. How can our family practice generosity together this week?

I am generous!

Sunday, June 22nd
SCRIPTURE: Mark 10:17-27

TEACHING OVERVIEW: This week we learnt about generosity through the story of Jesus and the rich man in Mark 10:17-27, exploring what it means to give to others from the heart. We learnt that being generous means loving Jesus more than our possessions and choosing to share things like time, money, toys, and kind words with others.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. Why do you think Jesus asked the rich man to give away his possessions?
  2. How does loving Jesus more than our things help us to be generous?
  3. What is one way you can show generosity to someone this week?

God is the ultimate giver!

Sunday, June 15th
SCRIPTURE: John 3:16

TEACHING OVERVIEW: This week, we focused on the big idea that God is the ultimate giver. Centred on John 3:16, we discovered how God’s incredible love for us led Him to give the greatest gift of all—His Son, Jesus. This gift is freely offered to everyone, and it becomes ours when we choose to believe in Him. As we reflect on God’s generosity, we are invited to think about how we can follow His example by giving to others—whether it’s our time, our abilities, or our kindness.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. What does it mean to you that God is a giver? How have you experienced God's gifts in your own life?
  2. Why do you think God chose to give His Son as a gift to the world? How does this show His love for us?
  3. How can we make sure we are not just receiving God’s gifts, but also sharing them with others?

God gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit!

Sunday, June 8th
SCRIPTURE: Acts 2

TEACHING OVERVIEW: Pentecost is a special celebration where we remember that God fulfilled His promise by sending the Holy Spirit to Jesus’ followers, empowering them to share His love and message with everyone—often called the "birthday of the church." The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to help us every day, giving us courage, comfort, and guidance to live out Jesus’ teachings and share His good news with others.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. What is Pentecost? Why is it important for Christians?
  2. How do you think the Holy Spirit helps us in our daily lives? Can you share an example?
  3. If you were to explain the story of Jesus and the Holy Spirit to a friend, what would you say?

On the 22nd of June 2025, our Prep to Grade 4 room will be moving from one room to two rooms: one for Prep to Grade 2, and another for Grades 3 and 4. Please watch your emails for further updates and details.

Everyone is included in God's Story

Sunday, June 1st
SCRIPTURE: Acts 10:1-48

TEACHING OVERVIEW: Through the story of Cornelius and Peter in Acts 10, we see that God’s invitation and love are for everyone, not just a select group. By sending the Holy Spirit and inspiring Peter to welcome Gentiles, God makes it clear that anyone who believes in Jesus is included in His story.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
  1. How does knowing that God includes everyone make you feel about your relationship with Jesus?
  2. How does knowing that God includes everyone change the way you think about treating others at school, church, or in your community?
  3. What is one way you can help someone feel included and valued, just as God does with you?
